Frequently Asked Questions

If you had a choice...would you rather be sat in a classroom on a comfy sofa drinking tea and coffee all day or out on the road gaining valuable time on the bike? I know where I would rather be!

What days are you open?
We are open 7 days a week, including all bank holidays. We are only closed on Christmas day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

How long is the CBT?

The CBT normally lasts the whole day. We start at 9.00 am and do the off-road training throughout the morning and then we spend the afternoon doing some theory and on-road training. See CBT section in the training link for more information.

What times do the courses run?
The course timings are as follows:

CBT -  09.00 - 16.00 approx.
Road Ride - Full Day: 09.30 - 16.00

Do I need my own bike and clothing

No, you do not need to have your own bike or clothing, but obvioulsy if you do have your own kit then feel free to bring it along. You can use your own bike if you wish, but we will need to see your documents ie. tax, MOT certificate (if needed) and valid insurance certificate.

We can provide you with a helmet, gloves and a jacket but you will need to provide your own suitable footwear - we suggest walking boots, Dr Martens, ex-Army high leg boot or work boots - but NOT steel toecaps!

Do you book the theory test?
We do not book the theory test for you, but we can help and guide you through the process. If you look at the Theory and Harzard Perception Test section you can find out more details on how to contact the DSA and not only book your theory on-line but also practice on-line as well.

What is Advanced Training; what do you do?
Advanced Training is the name given to any development training you undertake once you have passed your motorcycle test. Do not be put off by the names given to this extra education, it is a worthwhile exercise to take any further advice and you will learn a lot and get more enjoyment from your bike and your riding.
